There’s so much to learn when planning a Walt Disney World trip, particularly if you’re not a frequent guest. It’s not easy to explain the complexities of that visit to people that aren’t experts. A solid resource to help is Rope Drop Radio, a weekly podcast from two guys that regularly travel to the parks. Hosts Doug McKnight and Derek Sasman dive into a wide range of Disney topics in an entertaining way. They don’t take themselves too seriously but still provide a lot of info.
Doug and Derek are my guests on this episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast to talk about their show and more. We start by chatting about their background and how they got interested in doing a podcast. Derek also explains why he loved the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and misses it after three trips. This leads us to the episode’s main topic, where the hosts give their opinions on lots of topics about the parks.
During this episode, we dive into many subjects often in a rapid-fire fashion. I list a bunch of attractions and ask Doug and Derek whether the Disneyland or Walt Disney World version are better. Other questions ask for their least favorite attractions, go-to dining spots at The Magic Kingdom, what EPCOT pavilion needs an update, best old-man attractions, and which guest perks should return. They also explain which franchise they’d like to see added. I had a great time chatting with Doug and Derek about so many fun opinions about Walt Disney World and beyond.
