It’s an interesting time for Disney with a lot happening especially at Walt Disney World. We’ve had several attractions open, and more could be on the way in the future. This is the perfect time for me to speak again with Lou Mongello on the Tomorrow Society Podcast. He’s been podcasting about Disney and the parks for nearly 20 years starting in 2005. Lou hosts WDW Radio and has an up-close view of the latest changes in Florida and beyond.
During this episode, Lou and I talk about the latest on WDW Radio and recent projects like an Adventures by Disney trip to London and Paris. I also ask Lou what a typical day is like for him given all his other activities like coaching and public speaking. After catching up, we dive into the recent additions at Walt Disney World. Lou gives his thoughts on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the many animatronics inside the flume ride. He also describes attending a sneak preview of the new Country Bears Musical Jamboree that opened last week on July 17th.
We also look ahead to next month’s D23 2024: The Ultimate Fan Event (aka the D23 Expo). Lou expects that Disney will unveil big announcements for the parks at that event. Examples might be the Tropical Americas expansion at Disney’s Animal Kingdom or a Beyond Big Thunder expansion at the Magic Kingdom. We also cover the DisneylandForward approval and what they could mean for Disney’s California parks. I close the podcast by asking Lou rapid-fire questions about his opinions on various topics including what to do about the Galactic Starcruiser. I really enjoyed the chance to talk with Lou again on the podcast and get his thoughts on the parks.
