It’s an exciting time for theme park fans; rides and shows keep opening across the world. It’s impossible to keep up with all the announcements and rumors. At the D23 Expo, Disney reeled off a huge stream of news about experiences coming in the next five years. Universal keeps forging ahead and is set to build another Harry Potter attraction in Orlando. There are too many attractions to keep up with in Orlando, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
I’m still behind on experiencing the latest offerings that are already open, even in this country. That’s not a bad problem to have, as it’s much better than stagnancy at the parks. For the latest episode of The Tomorrow Society Podcast, I provide my theme park bucket list. I have narrowed all the possibilities down to 10 choices both in the U.S. and abroad. These picks barely scratch the surface, but they’re a solid primer for vacation plans in the upcoming years.
A few of these picks are a little embarrassing for a diehard theme park fan, but there are only so many days each year. Others are less likely to happen given the expense. It’s cool to dream, right? The theme-park world has expanded to include new resorts in Asia plus added experiences at the established spots. There are also fun additions from regional players that don’t need such an extended trip.
