I love hearing stories about what it’s actually like to work at theme parks. We all can assume that each day is glorious, but the reality is a lot more complicated. Even so, I’ve learned from people that work there about plenty of highlights from the experience. A perfect example is Skipper Ben Rebstock, who recalled many stories from his time at Disney on the Inside the Magic podcast with Ricky Brigante.
Skipper Ben is my guest on the latest episode of The Tomorrow Society Podcast. On his second appearance on this show, we dig further into what it was like to work as a Jungle Cruise Skipper. Ben also talks about what he loved about the original Disney/MGM Studios. That park has changed so much since the time Ben worked at Muppet Vision 3D. The arrival of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and Toy Story Land have led to a much different place.
Ben still visits the parks regularly, and he was lucky enough to experience Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure at Universal Orlando. We delve into that attraction and why it’s such an incredible addition to Islands of Adventure. At the end of the show, Ben answers some rapid-fire questions about the parks. It was a blast to talk with Ben again, and there’s still plenty more to discuss in the future.
