Wow, what a night! Josh D’Amaro and many special guests appeared on stage for several hours on Saturday night’s energetic D23 Disney Experiences Showcase. He promised lots of announcements, and Disney delivered in spades on that front. Now that we know about what’s coming to Disney’s parks and beyond in the near (and far) future, it’s time for the fun part. On this episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast, I dive into everything that Disney announced on Saturday.
During this epic podcast, I’ll rank all of Disney’s announcements from my least favorite to the ones I love. There’s nothing that I strongly disliked; even the lower picks could end up being great attractions. My choices really come down to what personally interests me. It’s just a fun way to dive into everything that Disney is planning for their parks and beyond in the future. Will the new Avatar land at Disney California Adventure take the top spot? Can anything beat the Villains Land coming to the Magic Kingdom? Will the Tropical Americas expansion with Indy and Encanto grab the crown? This is going to be a blast!
Along with expected announcements like new lands at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, there were some big surprises. I did not have the Monsters, Inc. door coaster at Disney’s Hollywood Studios on my bingo card. We also have a Walt Disney animatronic coming to Disneyland. Who knows if that will turn out well or terribly. Am I excited about a different Cars-themed land at The Magic Kingdom? There are so many questions to tackle, and I feel like this podcast just starts the conversation.
