Fire in the Hole was the first coaster at Silver Dollar City in 1972 and operated for more than 50 years. When the park finally decided to replace it, they made such an interesting choice. Also named Fire in the Hole, this updated version brings modern effects and a smoother ride to the original model. I recently returned to Silver Dollar City with my daughter to check out this coaster and much more.
This episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast includes my detailed review of Fire in the Hole 2.0 and my impressions of this visit. We did 16 rides (including some repeats) and had a really fun day. Along with the new ride, I talk about my first time riding Powder Keg, two more trips on the awesome Time Traveler coaster, and getting soaked multiple times on water rides.
Located near Branson, Missouri, Silver Dollar City is a top regional park with a diverse mix of rides and shows. Beyond the attractions, I talk about our stay at the Autumn Creek Branson Inn, dining at the park, and how everything worked out during our day. If you’re planning a trip to check out Fire in the Hole, I hope this episode helps give you some background to make it a great visit!
