The signature attraction of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge is the Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run attraction.

When my mind wanders, it often drifts towards ideas on visiting the parks. It’s easy to remember past trips and think about ways that I’d change our touring strategy. Walt Disney World is so complicated, and I have the type of brain that wants to maximize the visit. The flip side is ensuring that any trip is enjoyable. As I prepared for a rare solo journey to the parks, my mind was on high alert. Visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge was the primary reason for this trip, but there was a lot more to experience.

This episode of The Tomorrow Society Podcast includes a detailed trip report about my two-day, one-night visit to Walt Disney World. I reached all four parks during two days and experienced several attractions for the first time, including Flight of Passage. My total time at the resort was only 30 hours, and I packed a lot into both days; I’m still recovering from the limited sleep and countless steps. Even so, I had a great time enjoying old favorites and making new ones.

An Ambitious, Exciting Solo Visit

This podcast includes the following topics from my whirlwind tour of the parks:

  • How did I enjoy Galaxy’s Edge and Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run?
  • Was Oga’s Cantina worth the advance reservation and pricey drinks?
  • Did Flight of Passage and Slinky Dog Dash live up to their popularity?
  • How was my one-night stay in a remodeled room at the All-Star Movies resort?
  • What are some positive and negative aspects of a solo trip to Walt Disney World?
  • How did Disney’s Magical Express and the on-site bus service impact my trip?
The Capirotada de Chocolate bread pudding at the Mexico stand at the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival was a highlight.

I typically visit Orlando in January, so the blistering September heat was a big adjustment. However, the surprisingly low crowds compensated for it. This episode includes clips recorded at the parks plus thoughts from home afterwards. I have plenty to say about Galaxy’s Edge, Pandora, Epcot’s future, and a lot more from this thrilling sprint. I barely stopped moving during the 30-hour trip and am excited to share info about my time at Walt Disney World.
