Holiday crowds are no joke at theme parks, and many fans avoid them completely in late December. That wasn’t the case for Jessica Liese, who visited both Disneyland and Universal Studios Hollywood before and after Christmas, respectively. She still had a great time and checked out nearly all the big attractions at the two parks. Not everything went as planned, however. Jess is my guest on this episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast for a detailed trip report about her California vacation.
Jess is my co-host for Amazing Race Canada recaps for Rob Has a Podcast, and we’ve podcasted together since 2015. This is her second appearance on this show, and it was awesome to get her thoughts about this trip. She traveled with her son George, who rated each attraction they experienced. His reactions might surprise you. Jess starts by describing each step of their Disneyland trip, including headliners like the Indiana Jones Adventure, Rise of the Resistance, and the Haunted Mansion Holiday. They closed the day with “it’s a small world” Holiday, one of Jess’ top priorities.
Next up was Universal Studios Hollywood, including the latest addition with Super Nintendo World. Jess gives her reaction to Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge and this new land. We also chat about their experiences with the Studio Tour, Revenge of the Mummy, and the widely praised Secret Life of Pets dark ride. We cover George’s ratings again and hear about his attempts with an expensive Universal carnival game. I really enjoyed the chance to talk with Jess again and hear all about her latest trip.
