It’s been an interesting year at the Walt Disney World resort, and the changes just keep on coming. Some relate to the 50th Anniversary celebration, while others spring from the ongoing pandemic. I haven’t visited this year, so I’ve brought in a guest to help describe the experience. Lauren Staniszewski has taken several trips to Walt Disney World this year and also visited Universal Orlando. She joins me on this episode of The Tomorrow Society Podcast to talk about her 2021 vacations. There’s a lot to cover including great resorts, new attractions, and unfortunate giant barges.
Lauren also loves Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge and talks about her stays at both Jambo House and Kidani Village this year. It’s easily my favorite Walt Disney World resort, so I was jealous to hear about Lauren’s trips. She also stayed at the Polynesian and experienced the menu changes at Ohana. Beyond the resorts, Lauren describes her first ride on Rise of the Resistance and visiting Galaxy’s Edge for the first time. Lauren is also a writer and big fan of music in the parks, and we talk about her favorite background loops.
I haven’t stayed at the Cabana Bay Resort at Universal Orlando, so I enjoyed hearing about Lauren’s positive experience there. She also visited all the Universal parks and had the chance to ride the new VelociCoaster and Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure rollercoasters. I’m even more excited to ride both after hearing about how much Lauren enjoyed them. We conclude the podcast with some fun questions about what she enjoys at the parks. It was great to talk to Lauren and hear all about visiting Orlando in 2021.
