There are so many different ways to showcase our fandom for Disney and theme parks. We host podcasts, connect with other fans, and sing attraction songs. Tammy Tuckey has been doing all these activities plus a lot more. She has interviewed guests on her podcast since 2011 and has performed at several RetroMagic events. Her latest work is the album Glowing in Timeless Places, which includes new versions of classic theme park songs plus an original tune inspired by the parks.
Tammy is my guest on this episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast to talk about her latest work. Glowing in Timeless Places is her second album following You’ll Find Me on Main Street in 2018. This new collection of songs includes EPCOT Center gems like “One Little Spark”, “Veggie Veggie, Fruit Fruit” and “We’ve Just Begun to Dream” from the opening ceremony. We talk about those great tracks plus lesser-known choices like “Bright Little Star” from the Sonny Eclipse show in Tomorrowland. There’s also the original song “Cinematic”, inspired by the awesome Cinemagique in Paris.
Beyond the album, Tammy and I also talk about what it was like to perform the songs in front of hardcore Disney fans. She also describes the origins of the Tammy Tuckey Show podcast and what’s on the way for that show. Finally, I quiz Tammy on which attractions she prefers including tough battles like Horizons vs. the original Journey Into Imagination and Food Rocks vs. Tarzan Rocks. I really enjoyed the chance to learn more about Tammy and what went into Glowing in Timeless Places.
