I cannot overstate how important the sounds of the Disney theme parks are to their success. It’s impossible to separate the soundtracks from iconic rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, The Haunted Mansion, and so many more. The area music also helps set the scene for each park and separates the distinctive lands with a specific atmosphere. I really notice the difference when I visit my local Six Flags park, which feels weird because the sounds don’t fit the physical space. There’s a delicate art to building just the right soundtrack for a themed environment. It can’t stand out too much and should just complement the experience.
During my recent Walt Disney World trip, I captured audio through short clips of the attractions and background ambiance. This episode of The Tomorrow Society Podcast gives you a brief aural glimpse into my latest experience visiting the resort. A full trip report episode will be released in the next few weeks. First, here’s a quick audio look at my week in Orlando. It’s much different than the typical show, but there’s no need to worry. There will definitely be more interview podcasts coming very soon.
For an added bonus, I have included the full Tomorrow Society Podcast theme song at the end of the episode. Stay tuned until the final minute for the full composition, which was written by Adam Hucke and performed by The Sophisticated Babies.

You bring up an excellent point – the music really does tie the whole experience together, and sets the mood for the park. You start to hear it as you enter, and it continues as you move through. Now on to download the podcast! 🙂

Definitely! I hope you enjoyed the podcast. It was fun to put it together, especially right after finishing our trip.

It’s a gorgeous spring day here in the Northeast. Confined home due to Covid19, I just took a walk and listened to episode 21, sounds of WDW. It was so nice to hear all the sounds I love and so many wonderful images came to mind. Very comforting, especially with the parks being closed. Thank you, Dan.

Liz, that’s great that the episode helped provide some comfort! It was a bit distracting to record while we were there, but I’ve enjoyed listening back to it when thinking about that trip. I’m also at home due to COVID-19, and it was cool to hear you enjoyed the episode. Thanks for the comment!
