Following three days at the Disneyland resort over Memorial Day weekend, we couldn’t leave California without one more theme park stop. Our trip concluded with a fun day at a very busy Universal Studios Hollywood. Super Nintendo World was a major draw, but that was only part of what interested me about this evolving park. On this episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast, I give all my thoughts about this new land and Universal Studios Hollywood. This includes the interesting Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge attraction, which is the centerpiece of Super Nintendo World.
Another exciting part of our trip was the chance to experience the Studio Tour, which lasts nearly an hour and pays tribute to film-making history. I also enjoyed the throwback moments like the Jaws and Earthquake sections, which are no longer part of Universal Orlando. There are also new additions like the sets from Jordan Peele’s latest film Nope on this tour. My only other trip to Universal Studios Hollywood occurred way back in 1985 when I was nine years old. I remember the Studio Tour from that visit, though it has changed a lot in the past 38 years.
During this podcast, I cover everything we did on our day at Universal and give my overall thoughts on this different type of park. My favorites include the Waterworld live show, which includes lots of action and amazing stunts. It opened in 1995 and remains popular at Universal parks around the world. We also visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, a recreation of sights from The Simpsons in Springfield, and a lot more. I also give some advice to help you have an excellent day at Universal if you decide to go there.
