Theme parks deserve more attention; it’s fun to rant and rave about these amazing parks! At The Tomorrow Society, I cover the past, present, and future of these cool spots. Disney and Universal are the leaders, but others deserve a close look. I live in St. Louis, Missouri and also enjoy regional parks, museums, and zoos.
My name is Dan Heaton, and my theme park fandom started with vacations as a kid in the ’80s and ’90s. We now continue the tradition with our family. I can’t get enough of visiting theme parks and other cool places, and I love talking and writing about them.

About Me
My first theme park memory is a stay at the Polynesian when I was four in 1980. Another early vacation that sticks with me is my first visit to EPCOT Center in 1984. I was eight years old and the perfect age to experience Future World. In the pre-Internet age, I had no idea what to expect when we entered Spaceship Earth. It was a scary and thrilling moment that set me on the course to where I am today.
My love of theme parks connects to that early vacation. I miss attractions like Horizons, World of Motion, and the original Journey Into Imagination. However, there are still incredible attractions at Walt Disney World and other parks today. I have a gigantic list of parks and attractions that I still need to experience.
The Tomorrow Society Podcast
Enjoy smart talk and stories behind the magic on The Tomorrow Society Podcast. Interviews cover Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Universal, and other parks. I talk to Imagineers, authors, filmmakers, podcasters, and other experts.
My goal is simply to have fun conversations with people that love theme parks. Whether they’ve worked behind the scenes, write about the parks, or host podcasts, we’re all part of a community.
A True Passion Project
I studied Journalism and English at the University of Missouri-Columbia, but my daily job falls in a different field. The Tomorrow Society gives me a creative outlet. I worked as a DJ at the radio station in college and loved it. Until I started The Tomorrow Society Podcast, I didn’t realize how much I missed broadcasting. It’s truly a passion project, and that’s why it’s so important to me.
What I enjoy is hearing incredible stories about the people that bring theme parks to life. Beyond learning the history of cool attractions, I’m inspired by their careers. I hope this podcast helps spread the word about their stories and achievements.
