Back in August 2015, Bob Iger announced that Disney was building Star Wars lands on both coasts. The end result was the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019. The massive expansions included two major attractions plus dining, shopping, and several upcharge experiences. I enjoy a lot of what’s currently in Galaxy’s Edge, but there is still room for improvement. It’s fun to think about ways to make these lands even better. That’s my goal with an upcoming episode of the Tomorrow Society Podcast.
On Episode 100, I asked listeners to submit their questions on any topic. One of my favorites was a question from Jason Zambricki about what I would do to fix EPCOT. When I started digging into my ideas for that show, I realized this was a bigger topic. The result was the two-part “Improving EPCOT” podcast in July 2020. I followed it with episodes about improving Tomorrowland at Disneyland, DinoLand, U.S.A., and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Most recently, I focused on a single attraction with Spaceship Earth.
In honor of May the 4th tomorrow, it’s time to focus on Galaxy’s Edge! Here’s the scenario: you’ve been put in charge of creative changes for an update to Galaxy’s Edge. There is no specific budget, but I like it when ideas have some basis in reality. Send me your concepts for how you would update Galaxy’s Edge. You can talk about big changes to the overall land, new attractions, or just small updates. The route you take is entirely up to you. I’ll respond to these ideas on the episode, so please keep them fairly brief. What are the updates you’d make?
If you record an audio message, I’ll play your ideas on the podcast!
